Pycnonotus sinensis

Location of Appearance: The whole Park area.

With a length of 18 centimeters, the Pycnonotus sinensis (Chinese bulbul) has a black head and neck with the back of the head having white spots, yellow green back with tint of gray, yellow green wings and tail feathers, ear coverts with a white spot, white throat, and a dirty white prone surface. Showing up in woods of ground level to intermediate altitude areas, its distribution is confined to the western side of Taiwan, from the north of Fenggang to Yilan. A common bird species in the city plains, the Chinese bulbul sings loudly and clearly with variety, often letting out sounds like “chicadu, chicadu.”
